I have collaborated with Val for the past 3 1⁄2 years on complex, mission critical projects including projects incorporating AI for doctors and pharmacists as well as International projects where her sensitivity to culture and language were important.

Val has a deep understanding of corporate design systems and branding
Understanding user flows and using Figma prototypes to visualize and present these flows.
She has a great design sense for spacing, layout, color, typography and hierarchy. This was very helpful for our information products where we needed to guide users to the most important content within lengthy topics.
Ability to think and create “outside the box”. One project that Val worked on and often sought my design review of was a complete update for the Home pages for UpToDate and Lexidrug. This was a high visibility, mission critical project which lasted for 8 months. It had the challenge of many stakeholders and top leadership as clients. Val did great juggling all of this feedback and managed months of iterations of the design until it was just right. This project was very successful, received rave reviews from leadership, and made a difference at our company’s trade show booths at nation-wide health conferences including HLTH and HIMSS.
